MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE MEMBER

Job Description:

Members of this Committee assist the Membership Chair in all matters pertaining to the recruiting and signing of new Scout’s for the Troop. They will need to attend all District related recruiting opportunities and be available to talk with new Scouts and parents about Troop 574.

In addition they will need to ensure that thank-you letters are sent to every boy who visits and that when a Scout joins that all the necessary paperwork is completed and monies are collected.

A Membership Committee Member must be at least 18 years of age, be approved by the Troop's chartered organization, and must agree to live by the Scout Oath and Law.

Job Obligations:

  1. Work to recruit new Scouts into the Troop
  2. Provide a liaison between the new Scouts and their parents and the Troop prior to their joining
  3. Attend District recruiting events.
  4. Be available on Monday nights to talk with new Scouts and their parents when they visit.
  5. Ensure all the necessary paperwork is collected in a timely matter and all monies are collected and turned in to the Treasurer.
  6. Wear full uniform to every troop meeting and activity, where a uniform is required.
  7. Be a good role model for the Scouts in the troop, and live by the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan.
  8. Be a registered Adult Leader or Member of Committee and be Youth Protection Trained.
