TROOP QUARTERMASTER

Job Description:

The Troop Quartermaster is responsible for the procurement, storage and maintenance of the Troop’s equipment. He/she will work with each of the Patrol Quartermaster’s to ensure that the Patrol chuck boxes have the proper equipment in them and that the equipment is in good working order.

The Troop Quartermaster must be at least 18 years of age, be approved by the Troop's chartered organization, and must agree to live by the Scout Oath and Law.

Job Obligations:

  1. Supervise and help the troop procure camping equipment.
  2. Maintain an inventory of the Troop’s equipment.
  3. Ensure proper storage and maintenance of all troop equipment.
  4. Work with the Patrol Quartermasters to ensure chuck boxes are up-to-date and all equipment is in good working order.
  5. Make periodic safety checks on all the Troop’s camping gear, and instruct the Troop in the safe use of all outdoor equipment.
  6. Report to the troop committee at each meeting.
  7. Though the wearing of the Scout uniform by the Troop Quartermaster is not required, it is strongly encouraged.
  8. Be a good role model for the Scouts in the troop, and live by the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan.
  9. Be a registered Adult Leader or Member of Committee and be Youth Protection Trained.
