North District New Leader Essentials

WHO:

Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee Chairs and Committee Members

WHAT:

New Leader Essentials is an introductory session that highlights the values, aims and methods of Scouting. It addresses how these aims and methods are reached in an age appropriate style within the different programs.

New Leader Essentials is Step 1 and should be taken prior to SM, ASM and Boy Scout Leader Position Specific. SM, ASM and Boy Scout Leader Position Specific training on Saturday September 16th is Step 2. Outdoor Leader Skills on September 30th is Step 3. All three courses plus Youth Protection are required for the ‘Trained’ patch. Youth Protection training is available on-line and throughout the year at Boy Scout Roundtable.

North District Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster
and Boy Scout Leader Specific Training

WHO:

Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee Chairs and Committee Members

WHAT:

Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster and Boy Scout Leader Specific training provides a hands-on application of the specialized knowledge a new leader needs to assume a leadership role in the troop. Highlights: Role of Scoutmaster, Troop Committee and SMs, Troop Meeting and Organization, Patrol Method, Patrol Leaders’ Council, Outdoor Program, Advancement, Proper Uniforming. Emphasis is on troop operation and the patrol method.

North District Outdoor Leader Skills - Fall

WHO:

Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee Chairs and Committee Members

WHAT:

Outdoor Leader Skills is a hands-on skills training in the outdoors, designed to help you master basic camp skills required for Tenderfoot to First Class. You will learn how to set up camp, cook, work with wood tools, knots, first aid, plan camp fire programs, map and compass skills, hiking and backpacking techniques, nature identification and Leave No Trace.

 New Leader Essentials is Step 1 and should be taken prior to SM, ASM and Boy Scout Leader Position Specific training. SM, ASM and Boy Scout Leader Position Specific training on Saturday September 16th ss Step 2. Outdoor Leader Skills on September 30th is Step 3.
